Architecture in Barcelona
Introduction
It is not possible to visit
Barcelona
without noticing the so unique architecture of the city.
In each and every tourist site or street it is able to be impressed and amazed.
Barcelona is an important artistic center.
Artists in many different fields were acting and are still acting in it.
Among the known ones: Gaudi - the architect and sculptor, Dali and Picasso – the painters, and also Miro.
Barcelona city is known in its unique buildings, built in the Modernisme style.
The buildings were built as part of the Eixample (broadening) project of the city
(a project in which a new quarter was built) in the end of the 19th century and beginning of the 20ty century.
The most famous architect, which built in this building style, is Antoni Gaudi and among his famous buildings
